Seferihisar Transfer
The oldest settlement on the territory of Seferihisar district is Teos, and it is known that this place was founded by Cretans fleeing from Achaeans in 1000 BC and was a city of Ionians. Thus, it can be said that the region is a 3000-year-old settlement. It became a county in 1884.
Its distance from the city center is 45 km. There is Urla in the north of the district, Güzelbahçe and Karabağlar in the northeast, Menderes districts in the east, and the Aegean Sea in the south and west. The town center is located 5 km inland from the sea. The area of the district is 375 km². The mathematical location of Seferihisar is 26°45'00" east, 27°01'30" east longitudes and 38°17'00" north and 38°02'00" north latitudes.
The railway line does not pass through the territory of the district, and the nearest station is in Izmir city center (45 km) and Adnan Menderes Airport (40 km).
While the district does not have a port for passenger and freight transportation on the seaside, there is a fisherman's shelter and a marina with a capacity of 400 yachts in Sığacık.
The establishment place of the district center is 18 m above sea level. The city was built on the slopes descending to the sea and the plains of Kocaçay Valley, west of Kızıldağlar (1080 m) extending in the north-south direction.
